Leading global gaming operator, 888 Holdings has recently responded to declining revenues by launching a brand-new poker client that has been christened Poker 8. The new generation poker client is going to be made available to all of the new customers on the 888poker.com network and is primarily designed to make the operator’s offerings more appealing to the new age of online poker players.

888 Holdings will be rolling out Poker 8 over the next few months perhaps because it is still incorporating all of the aspects that its customers have come to know and love from all the time that they have spent playing at the original 888poker site. With the new platform, the poker operator will also be addressing a number of key issues that plagued the original 888poker site – these will include the improvement of the graphics and site functionality. In addition to that, the new client will also boast of a cleaner design as well as a much smoother multi-table transition for payers who may wish to jump between gaming tables.

Furthermore, the customers can also expect to have access to a revamped lobby that will not only have better graphics but will also be optimized well enough to work seamlessly across all major device platforms including a vast range of mobile devices and desktop computers.

“Over the coming months, all players will benefit from additional upgrades and improvements to our next generation poker platform and we’ll be taking on board customer feedback about the new features. Once the roll-out is complete, we believe our best-in-class platform will offer the most entertaining and engaging experience on the market,” 888Holdings’ senior vice-president of B2C Guy Cohen said during the press release.

While it is too early to tell if this is enough to salvage 888 Holdings from the decline in revenue that it has suffered in the recent past, appealing to the younger generation of online poker players is definitely the right place to begin. The company is not stopping there though.

The Rake or Break Initiative

Following the relative success of its RakeLESS Sunday promotion, 888Poker will be continuing with the same theme with their new Rake or Break Promotion that is set to officially kick off on Sunday, March 24 on the new Poker 8 client.

For this promotion, 888Poker will be selecting three tournaments each and every Sunday and each of these tournaments will include guaranteed prize pools of up to a whopping $100,000. To make the promotion even more exciting and interesting, 888 will be refunding all tournament fees – including re-entry fees – in case they fail to meet the guarantee. Moreover, the company will be increasing the following week’s guarantee by 10 percent.
