Following a massively successful three-day soft launch period, Churchill Downs Inc.’s BetAmerica online sportsbook officially made its debut in the Keystone State’s lucrative and rapidly growing sports betting market. The sportsbook went live last Wednesday and is now the eighth online sportsbook operator in the state.

While this is the first time BetAmerica is venturing into the state’s online gaming space, it is already a dominant player in the retail sports betting space. In August, the gaming operator launched its BetAmerica-branded sportsbook at the Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie.  This move gave it deep insight into the dynamics of the state’s sports betting industry. Naturally, this knowledge and experience came in handy as the company navigates Pennsylvania’s competitive online sports betting market.

Market-Leading Products

The operator’s retail sportsbook has made tremendous strides in the space thanks to their dedication to delivering market-leading products and promotions. These have been welcomed quite well by Pennsylvanian bettors and the company plans to make online betting just as good. For instance, the online sportsbook will include several amazing features such as super odd boosts, in-game betting, and speedy cashouts.

Sports bettors in the state will be able to place online bets on a wide range of global sporting events and activities. These will include both professional and collegiate sports as well as both local and international sporting events.

“We’re thrilled to offer the market-leading products and promotions that have proven popular with our players at Presque Isle Downs & Casino to sports bettors all across Pennsylvania, BetAmerica President Ian Williams commented.

As it stands, the company has not released mobile versions of the BetAmerica online sportsbook. Fortunately, a representative of the company has confirmed that the apps have already been developed and should be available to the customers in just a couple of weeks. All that remains is regulatory approval from the state’s gambling regulator.

The State of Sports Betting in Pennsylvania

In the first year of online gambling in the Keystone State, a whopping $1.1 billion has been wagered in the activities. Out of that, over $25 million in state tax revenue has been generated. This is a clear indication of why Pennsylvania is such a lucrative venture for many gaming companies. In fact, in addition to having one of the biggest populations in the United States, it also happens to be the third-largest sports betting market in the country. If it continues on the same path, it might even surpass Nevada and New Jersey to become the leading market.

This might happen sooner than imagined. In November, the state’s sports betting handle grew beyond $300 million for the first time. Thanks to the increase in mobile and online gaming offering this stellar performance was made possible. It is just the beginning though.
