Evolution Gaming has taken an unexpected leap by adding Spanish-language live dealer blackjack tables to its portfolio in Pennsylvania. This decision highlights the increasing necessity of catering to ethnic audiences. In addition to being a new feature, the launch that occurred in the middle of August was a deliberate move to cater to the state’s large Spanish-speaking population with an immersive, personalized experience.

Several online casino sites in Pennsylvania now offer the “VIP Blackjack en Español” tables, which went through months of extensive testing in New Jersey, providing Spanish-speaking players with a new level of personalization.

A Growing Market Segment

The launch of Spanish-language live dealer games is an intentional attempt to appeal to the country’s sizable and growing Hispanic population. U.S. Census Bureau data shows that among non-English speakers, Spanish is by far the most prevalent preference. New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut are home to more than 2.7 million Spanish speakers. Nearly 6% of Pennsylvanians prefer Spanish, so this project has a good chance of resonating with a significant share of the market.

“Evolution has been a pioneer of non-English tables, which started in 2012 when we launched our first roulette table with Italian-speaking game presenters. To date, we offer close to 30 different languages and dialects globally, so in a way this is nothing new to us. But we’re very happy to bring this experience to players in the US.”

Evolution’s North American CEO, Jacob Claesson

Many people may play live dealer blackjack in their own language since these games are available on so many platforms. If everything goes according to plan, Evolution might further affirm its foothold in the American market by adding additional popular live dealer games like baccarat, roulette, and craps to its Spanish-language offerings.

As such, with the help of these personalized gaming experiences, Evolution is not just increasing its platform appeal but also breaking down barriers to entry for some gamers. Plans are already in motion to introduce a Spanish version of the popular Infinite Blackjack game in New Jersey, with potential rollouts in Connecticut on the horizon.

What Next?

In response to the demand from its 12.8% Spanish-speaking population, Connecticut is also planning to launch blackjack tables in Spanish in the coming months. The demand from online casino gamblers already prompted Evolution to extend its live dealer services in the state in December 2023. Unfortunately, West Virginia which is another lucrative market will not be a part of this expansion just yet.
