FanDuel and Valley Forge Launch Mobile Casino in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania’s gambling fans are now able to choose from a wider range of options when it comes to online casinos. This is thanks to the recent launch of FanDuel Casino by FanDuel in collaboration with Valley Forge Casino and Boyd Gaming, its gaming partners in the Keystone State. The Friday launch came after two days of quiet testing that were overseen by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Once the gaming regulator ascertained that the operator had met all of its standards, it gave it the green light to launch full operations.

FanDuel already has a mobile sportsbook known as the FanDuel Sportsbook that is operating in a couple of states. Pennsylvania is, however, the first state where an online casino under the FanDuel brand can be found. The closest thing to that is its operations in New Jersey through the Betfair Casino brand – it offers its games via a standalone app and is integrated with the sportsbook app. In the Keystone State, the FanDuel Online casino is the sixth online casino offering.

For now, only smartphones running Android and iOS will be capable of accessing the FanDuel Casino offerings. The players using these devices will be able to switch between the sportsbook and the casino on the already existing FanDuel app. Unfortunately, there currently no access to the online casino offering via devices with larger screens such as tablets, laptops, and computers.

According to Jesse Chemtob, the company’s vice president/manager for casino, the lack of support for desktops and tablets is a problem they intend to solve very soon. The company has plans to explore solutions that will enable online casino games to be accessible on a wider range of devices.

The Selection of Games

The online casino launched with a total of 12 online slots and five table games. For avid online gamblers in Pennsylvania, this is definitely quite disappointing, especially because it is the smallest number of games available on an online casino in Pennsylvania. Fortunately, FanDuel has plans to puff up the number of games available on the platform.

Still, the selection of games is pretty solid despite their small number. Many gamblers in the state will, without a doubt, enjoy the small selection of hand-picked and massively popular titles that can be found on the site.

Now, there is one rather huge omission from the online gaming offering that FanDuel just recently debuted. While Valley Forge Casino applied for sports betting, online casino, and online poker licenses, there is no indication that they will be offering online poker anytime soon. Currently, the only online poker option available in the state is PokerStars.
