Sports betting has been thriving in the Keystone State for quite a while and it is about to get even bigger. Online sports betting was among the most anticipated gaming verticals in the state and since online sportsbooks launched in the state, they have reported impressive revenue figures. That said, it is not surprising that more and more gambling operators have their sights set on the state’s nascent but rapidly growing betting market.

Fox Bet Sportsbook, one of the country’s most popular sports betting operators, is reportedly planning to go live with an online sportsbook in the state on September 3. Initially, it was speculated that the Fox Bet Sportsbook and PokerStars Pennsylvania would go live with beta versions of their offerings. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) later confirmed that nothing of the sort had been planned for the aforementioned date.

However, new reports have emerged indicating that the Fox Bet Online Sportsbook will officially begin testing on Tuesday, September 3. If this is the case, the online sportsbook will have a one-week head start within which they will be able to prepare for Week 1 of the NFL Betting action that will kick off on September 8.

More on the Sportsbook

In May 2019, The Stars Group signed a lucrative partnership deal with behemoth broadcast company Fox Sports to pursue a joint venture that is the Fox Bet brand. This joint venture will offer gamer real-money sports betting as well as free-to-play contest beginning the fall of 2019. The Stars Group already has sports betting site known as BetStars in New Jersey and it is anticipated that the Fox Bet Online Sportsbook in Pennsylvania will be very similar to that.

The sports betting platform is set to pack all of the top-notch features that both companies are known for offering. In addition to that, it is expected that mobile betting apps for the sportsbook are also in the works even though the site will certainly be optimized to work flawlessly or seamlessly across all popular computing devices.

What About the Mount Airy Sportsbook?

Mount Airy’s retail sportsbook may seem to have been sidelined, at least for a little bit. However, considering the fact that the NFL season is about two weeks away, it will not be surprising to hear of the simultaneous launch of the Fox Bet online sportsbook and the Mount Airy retail sportsbook. This is yet to be confirmed and therefore all we can do is sit and to see how things play out. Whatever happens, Pennsylvanian gamers will have more betting options available to them.
