Renowned online gambling software developer and solutions provider GAN last week announced that it would be making substantial additions to the services that it currently provides to FanDuel Group which is owned by Flutter Entertainment, the behemoth gambling operator that was previously known as Paddy Power Betfair. The expansion will be going down in the Keystone State which has been on track to launch its online gambling industry in July – this is clearly a move that is meant to help the company to position itself to grab a significant portion of the gambling market when online gaming goes live in the state.

The GAN, FanDuel partnership first became official back in 2013 with the initial target being New Jersey where online gambling only became legal in 2018. At the beginning of 2019, both companies announced that would build on their initial partnership with an extended five-year contract. Under this new contract, GAN became the exclusive platform provider for FanDuel and would be delivering “rapid deployment of Internet casino, and account services for Internet sports betting in Pennsylvania and West Virginia.”

A short while later, FanDuel officially entered the Keystone State’s gambling market through a sports betting partnership with Valley Forge Casino which is located close to Philadelphia. As per the terms of this partnership deal, FanDuel would be providing wagering services at a physical outlet as which launched on March 13 as well as online.

GAN, as it turns out, had already secured an entry into the state’s gambling market through a partnership with renowned Pennsylvanian gambling operator Parx Casino.

Huge Revenue Opportunity

As mentioned earlier, the expanded partnership between GAN and FanDuel represents a great opportunity for growth not just in the Keystone State but across the United States as a whole. Pennsylvania is a great place to start simply because it has one of the biggest populations in the country and its people are quite receptive of legal and regulated gambling opportunities.

“The launch of an Internet casino service for another casino in Pennsylvania represents a material incremental revenue opportunity for GAN,” Dermot Smurfit, CEO of GAN, commented.

The GAN chief executive further confirmed that the partnership is focused on making the best of “incremental US Internet sports betting opportunity.” This can be proven by the fact that the two companies’ clients have seen substantial revenue increases since regulated sports betting became legal in the United States thanks to the May 2018 Supreme Court ruling that abolished PASPA.

All in all, things seem to be looking up for sports betting and gambling across the United States with more and more service providers beginning to venture into the space.
