Live! Casino Pittsburgh will continue operating for another five years after the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board unanimously renewed its Category 4 casino license, allowing the Westmoreland County property to maintain its place in the state’s regulated gambling market.

The decision followed a review of the casino’s operations, with regulators examining its compliance record and community impact as well as overall performance since its previous license renewal.

The Casino’s Contribution to Pennsylvania’s Gambling Market

Since opening in November 2020, Live! Casino Pittsburgh has generated $647 million in gross revenue from retail slot machines, table games and sports wagering. The property has also contributed $314.7 million in tax revenue to the Commonwealth, a key indicator of its immense financial contribution to Pennsylvania’s gambling industry.

The casino currently operates 748 slot machines, 40 table games and a retail sportsbook. Its workforce includes 569 employees, making it both an employer and a source of gaming and tax revenue for the region.

What Went into the License Renewal?

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board’s decision followed a review process that included public input and assessments from government officials, community groups and regulatory agencies. A public input hearing in June 2025 allowed casino representatives to present evidence and testimony about the property’s operations since its previous renewal. Members of the public were also invited to share their views on the casino and its impact on the surrounding community.

Regulators considered information from local government officials, community organizations and the Pennsylvania State Police, alongside reports from the board’s Office of Enforcement Counsel, Bureau of Investigations and Enforcement, Office of Compulsive and Problem Gambling, and Bureau of Casino Compliance.

A further hearing took place in Harrisburg on October 14, 2026, where board members questioned representatives of Stadium Casino Westmoreland RE, LLC before voting unanimously to renew the license. The board concluded that the operator had met the requirements of its existing license and qualified for another five-year term.

Pennsylvania’s Gambling Market Remains a Major Opportunity

Live! Casino Pittsburgh’s license renewal comes as Pennsylvania continues to establish itself as one of the country’s major gambling markets. With substantial gaming revenue, significant tax contributions and an established network of casinos and sportsbooks, the state remains an important destination for operators looking to strengthen their presence in the US gambling industry.

The market’s continued commercial appeal is likely to keep existing operators focused on expanding their offerings while attracting interest from businesses looking to capitalize on Pennsylvania’s established customer base. As competition develops across the sector, operators will be looking for opportunities to capture a larger share of the market.

Maintaining regulatory approval gives Live! Casino Pittsburgh the opportunity to build on its performance since opening. With Pennsylvania’s gambling industry continuing to generate significant economic activity, the next five years could bring further competition and revenue opportunities across the state’s casino sector.
