Microgaming last week rolled out its news Prima Poker software on its Microgaming Poker Network after having worked for a year to revitalize the product. Prima may have a new face thanks to Microgaming’s tremendous efforts to reintroduce into the market but it is by no means an entirely new name in the online poker industry. In fact, if you are an avid follower of the online poker scene, then you have probably heard of it or even played on the platform.
Once considered to be one of the biggest names in online poker, Prima was the go-to place for anyone who loved the thrill of high-stakes poker games most of which rivaled the offerings of today’s online poker behemoths like PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker. Prima’ prestige, however, faded over time as the action dissipated and moved to other places and this eventually saw it get rebranded.
What to Expect
The new and improved Prima Poker has been built with players in mind – the interface has been streamlined and optimized so as to ensure the easiest possible navigation to cash, tournament and casino games, which also happen include a blind cash game lobby as well as a simplified rewards system. Microgaming developed the client with a very strong emphasis on enhancing the customer experience while at the same time promoting responsible gambling through increased transparency.
As far as achieving said transparency goes, Prima Poker client features a player history tool that displays the overall profits and losses across all the game types – this history for any time period and therefore allows the players to review their gameplay at any point time then use the information to make informed choices.
“This is our biggest and most important poker release and the culmination of a multi-year strategy to revitalize our product and leapfrog the competition. I’m proud of what the team has achieved and I’m so excited about what we are going to build together in the coming months. By the end of the year, this new Prima client will have significant new features that the old one doesn’t have. At that point, I want to be really pushing it to players over the old one. This is much more in keeping with what you’d expect as a player in 2018,” Alex Scott, the head of product (network games) at Microgaming said.
Reportedly, Microgaming uses cross-platform technologies to design Prima – the design is modular and is powered by the same codebases that will enable Microgaming to swiftly deploy new updates and features across all the platforms at the same time. In addition to ensuring that players are offers nothing short of the latest and greatest in terms of software, this will make penetration into new markets even easier.
