Pennsylvania’s casino market has become part of a much larger expansion story. Operators are pursuing growth across state and national borders, bringing new games to players while using established technology and customer bases to enter emerging regulated markets.
Caesars Entertainment and AGS recently expanded their collaboration through two new slot releases available across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ontario. Penn Entertainment, meanwhile, has invested $20 million in Alberta following the launch of the province’s regulated online gambling market.
New Games and New Markets
Pennsylvania players now have access to Miss Clover Deluxe and Shamrock Fortunes Deluxe, the latest additions to the Triple Coin Treasures Revolution series.
The games feature three-pot mechanics, wheel bonuses, jackpots, multipliers, extra spins, expanding reels and upgraded symbols. Caesars has rolled out the titles across its online casino brands and selected retail properties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ontario. That omnichannel approach gives players a familiar experience across digital and physical casinos while allowing operators to distribute new content across several markets.
Penn has taken its expansion strategy into Canada. Hollywood Casino, theScore Casino and theScore Bet launched in Alberta on July 13, giving the company an immediate presence in the province’s newly regulated online gambling market. The $20 million investment follows Penn’s experience in Ontario, where theScore Bet launched in 2022. CEO Jay Snowden said Ontario has become Penn’s largest online sports betting market, while its digital casino revenue is roughly comparable to Pennsylvania.
Growth Through Connected Casino Products
Penn’s Canadian strategy also highlights the growing importance of connecting sports betting and online casino products. The company reduced its interactive adjusted EBITDA loss from $62 million in Q2 2025 to $9.5 million in Q2 2026. Stronger iCasino performance, tighter cost controls and cross-selling helped drive the improvement.
The FIFA World Cup provided another major opportunity to expand that customer relationship. Around 70% of Penn’s sportsbook users placed a World Cup wager, while roughly 45% were betting on soccer for the first time.
Operators can use that increased engagement to introduce customers to other regulated products, creating larger digital ecosystems across sports betting and casino gaming.
Good News for Players
More operators entering regulated markets means players are gaining a wider selection of licensed gambling platforms, games and digital experiences.
Pennsylvania already has one of the more established regulated online gambling markets in the US. Developments in Alberta, Ontario, and other jurisdictions are helping to create a broader environment in which regulated gaming becomes increasingly familiar to consumers.
That growth also puts greater emphasis on player awareness. Licensed operators operate under regulatory requirements covering areas such as age verification, responsible gambling tools, account controls and consumer protection. Players who understand those safeguards can make more informed decisions about where they play and which tools they use.
