Pennsylvania’s gaming market continued to grow in July, with casinos, online gaming, sports betting, video gaming terminals and fantasy contests generating $591.1 million in combined revenue. This represented a 5.99% increase from July 2025, while gaming activity generated approximately $256.8 million in tax revenue for the Commonwealth, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
Online casino gaming again stood out as one of the biggest growth drivers. iGaming revenue reached $249 million, up 9.09% year over year, as online slots generated nearly $200 million.
Online Casino Growth Dominates
Pennsylvania’s online casino market generated $199.2 million from slots in July, a 12.41% increase from the same month last year. Online table games produced another $47.4 million, although that figure slipped 2.20% year over year. iGaming poker also declined 7.14% to $2.34 million. The overall result still put online casino gaming well ahead of its July 2025 total of $228.3 million.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course remained the largest iGaming revenue generator at $97 million, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort at $70.1 million and Rivers Casino Philadelphia at $40.5 million.
Several operators recorded particularly strong year-over-year gains. Harrah’s Philadelphia’s iGaming revenue increased 40.01%, while Bally’s Pennsylvania rose 65.58%, Presque Isle Downs climbed 32.50% and Mohegan Pennsylvania increased 32.56%.
Sports Betting Surges While Retail Casino Play Delivers Mixed Results
Sports betting produced another major increase during July. Pennsylvania sportsbooks handled $509.5 million in wagers, up 23.53% from July 2025, while revenue climbed 27.75% to $51.84 million. Valley Forge Casino Resort led the market with $21.13 million in sports wagering revenue, followed by Hollywood Casino at the Meadows with $14.38 million.
Retail casino gaming produced a more mixed picture. Slot revenue increased 2.48% to $213.7 million, despite a slight increase in the number of machines operating statewide. Table games, meanwhile, fell 5.07% to $72.4 million. Some properties still posted notable table-game gains. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows increased revenue by more than 268%, while Mohegan Pennsylvania rose 49.04% and Live! Casino Philadelphia gained 21.69%.
The broader casino revenue rankings also shifted. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course generated $111.5 million across its gaming operations, followed by Valley Forge at $103.4 million and Rivers Casino Philadelphia at $59.9 million.
Solid Entry into the Next Fiscal Year
July’s results arrive shortly after Pennsylvania closed its 2025/26 fiscal year with more than $7 billion in total gaming revenue, a record for the state. The PGCB said fiscal-year revenue reached $7.006 billion, with taxes and fees returning more than $3.09 billion to the Commonwealth. The July numbers suggest that momentum will carry into the new fiscal year.
Online casino gaming remains particularly important to that growth. Its $249 million July contribution accounted for more than two-fifths of the state’s combined gaming revenue, while sports betting added another $51.8 million. Retail casinos continue to provide the foundation of Pennsylvania’s gambling market, but the latest figures show how much of the industry’s growth is now coming through digital channels.
That balance could become increasingly important as Pennsylvania’s regulated online casino market matures and operators compete for players across slots, table games and poker alongside the state’s established land-based casino business.
