Renowned gambling operator Penn National has recently revealed that it has entered into a lucrative partnership with Sportradar, the world’s leading provider of sports content and data. The partnership will allow Penn National Gaming to gain access to official NFL data which it can then use on its sports betting platforms.

In its sportsbooks, Penn National will now be able to offer a wide variety of live, in-game wagering options on NFL games. This will apply to both the retails sports betting locations as well as on its soon-to-launched Barstool Sportsbook app.

Needless to say, the timing of the new partnership is, without a doubt, truly impeccable especially considering that the NFL season is restarting very soon. As such, there is going to be a lot of demand for sports betting options in Pennsylvania and other states with regulated markets. Penn National can now take full advantage of that opportunity.

“Delivering official NFL data to our growing, loyal audience, including over 66 million Barstool fans and our 20 million casino customers, will provide tremendous wagering opportunities where we operate sportsbooks across the country.”

Jon Kaplowitz, Senior Vice President of Penn National.

It is important to note that the restart of the NFL season is still not assured due to all that is going on with regards to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the decision is still quite valid since it is going to have a ton of long-term benefits for the company.

Penn National’s Reopening Plans

The gaming operator has a strong presence in several places and not just Pennsylvania. Its partnership with Sportradar seems to be an extension of sorts to the reopening plans as it presents the company with new opportunities as the country builds up efforts to return to normalcy.

By July 1, the gaming company confirmed that it has succeeded in reopening 34 of its gaming and racing properties. This accounts for a total of 14 out of the 19 states where the company operates. Its most recent development was the reopening of three gaming destinations in Illinois. The state is also fast-tracking its efforts to launch a fully regulated sports betting industry, yet another opportunity that Penn National certainly has its sights set on.

Thankfully, the Penn National Gaming venues that are operating are running in accordance with the best possible safety guidelines and protocols. Social distancing within those venues has been enforced and the spaces are regularly sanitized to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19.
