Pennsylvania’s online casino market ended 2024 on a high note, setting benchmarks that could shape the future of iGaming across the U.S. With all the competitive platforms now available to players in 2025, the Keystone State has become a hub of innovation, competition, and revenue generation. The past year’s success not only showcases the state’s successful model but also provides a potential roadmap for other jurisdictions aiming to replicate its growth.

Total gaming revenue for December, including all forms regulated by the PGCB, reached $533,087,197. This represents a slight decrease of 0.21% compared to December 2023. Tax revenue from these activities amounted to $223,682,037. The regulated gaming categories include retail slots and table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests, and video gaming terminals (VGTs). iGaming Revenue Breakdown

The state’s gambling regulator reported an all-time monthly high for iGaming revenue in December 2024, with total earnings of $223,652,312. This figure surpassed the previous record of $200,490,599 set just a month earlier in November 2024.

December’s record-breaking iGaming performance marked a 35.46% increase compared to December 2023, driven by a significant rise in online slots (+40.54%) and table games (+24.20%). Meanwhile, sports wagering revenue saw a sharp decline (-69.84%), contributing to the overall marginal year-over-year drop in statewide gaming revenue.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course emerged as a standout, generating $99,337,139 in December 2024, a 31.30% year-over-year increase. Similarly, Golden Nugget posted a remarkable 124.96% growth, reflecting a surge in iGaming activity. Conversely, Hollywood Casino at the Meadows experienced the steepest decline, with revenues dropping by 33.79%.
