In early January the Cordish Companies-owned Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia announced that they would be launching their second casino operation in Philadelphia. This new world-class gaming and entertainment facility is located in the Stadium District and it opened its doors shortly after on January 19 for a series of reservation-only Preview Days. Only Live! Rewards Club members could access it during that duration.

The Grand Opening

All that was to be followed by an official Grand Opening that will allow the general public to visit the venue and enjoy all of the things that it has to offer. This was, of course, depending on the approval of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). Thankfully, this seems to have finally passed. That said, beginning February 11 at 8.00 p.m. gamers will have access to:

  • 150 live-action table games
  • Over 2,100 slots and electronic table games
  • A 29 table Poker Room
  • A luxury 208-room Live! Hotel
  • Several premier dining and entertainment options
  • A FanDuel® Sportsbook
  • Six room Event Center
  • Convenient access to parking

For people who are looking for some entertainment, the new casino is definitely set to be the go-to destination.

“What we have created here is unrivaled anywhere in the country. Sports fans, foodies, gaming enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a night of fun and excitement only has to make one stop to experience it all.”

Joe Billhimer, Executive Vice President, Cordish Gaming Group.

The casino operator has very ambitious plans for transformative development. This is not only bound to breathe some new life into the heart of the Stadium District but it is also going to conjure some economic developments. In addition to creating 2,000 permanent jobs, it will also generate over $2 billion in economic stimulus and up to $100 million in tax revenues with the first five years of its launch.

The Comprehensive Safety Plan

While the Keystone State has made a lot of leaps with regards to dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, we are not out of the woods just yet. Many casinos in the state have since reopened but they still need to have measures and protocols in place to ensure the safety of everyone.

Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia is also taking health and safety very seriously. The operator has already drafted a very comprehensive Play It Safe plan. This plan is an enhanced health program that pushes for social distancing, frequent sanitization of surfaces around the casino as well as occupancy limits.
