Sean Sullivan Appointed as General Manager for Upcoming Live! Casino

Plans for the upcoming $150 million Live! Casino in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania are beginning to pick up the pace as the launch of the property draws nearer. On Tuesday, the Cordish Gaming Group which is a division of The Cordish Companies announced that they had appointed Sean Sullivan as the General Manager of the yet-to-be-launched casino.

Sean Sullivan is a former manager of the Meadows Racetrack & Casino which means he definitely has the skills and experience to lead the facilities operations – he has been in the gaming industry for more than 40 years. His understanding of the Pennsylvanian market will go a long way in ensuring the growth and longevity of the gaming establishment.

In his new role, the appointee will be responsible for, among other things, overseeing the development as well as the day-to-day management of the operations as the new facility. According to Rob Norton, president of Cordish Gaming Group, the decision to appoint Sullivan was vital as the company has plans to make the most out of expansions into new jurisdictions. That said, it is vital that they have the best of the best in terms of expertise to lead their new developments.

“Under his leadership as general manager, we are confident the new Live! Casino will become the premier gaming and entertainment destination in the Pittsburgh market,” Norton added.

Other highlights of Sean Sullivan’s impressive resume include a number of leadership roles including being the vice president of special projects at Las Vegas’ Pinnacle Entertainment. In addition to that, he also served as the general manager and vice president in Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Red Wing, Minnesota. Needless to say, all these qualifications make him an immediate asset to the gambling group and the gaming facility itself.

Live! Casino’s Progress

Plans to launch the gaming facility in the course of the year are still in place and all things seem to be quite well. The development will generate up to a whopping $188 million in annual economic impact. In addition to that, it is to create close to 960 construction-related jobs as well as an additional $148 million in economic impact.

Once construction is complete, about 500 new permanent jobs will be available and both local and regional residents will have the opportunity to benefit from these. All these are very promising prospects and with the entry of a new, skilled and experienced general manager, things are certainly going to get even better than they already are. Meanwhile, residents of the county and the state as a whole will have to wait a little bit till the facility goes live.
